What are schedule types?

There are 4 different ways for you to schedule and dispense your courses.

First, decide if your course requires booking. When a student books a course, he or she reserves a seat in the class by either scheduling it with the school admin or through the student portal.

Booking

If this course requires students to make reservations for the class, then you have two options.

  • Private - 1 student in the course
  • Group Class - 2 or more students in the course

1. Private Lessons - (Booking)

1 teacher to 1 student

Choose the schedule type Booking if you want the student to book a private (1 on 1) lesson with a teacher. The students can log in to view the teacher's schedule and book a time.

Example - A student books a private one on one lesson with a teacher through the student portal

2. Group Lessons - (Flexible Student)

1 teacher to multiple students

Choose the schedule type Flexible Student if you want the student to book a group class. Based on a set schedule. The student can choose to attend or not attend the lesson.

Example - A yoga school offers 12 different classes every day of the week. Any student can book and join any class.

No Booking

Students can show up to class without making a reservation. Generally, students are expected to attend every class.

1 teacher or many teacher?

If this course allows students to show up without reservations, then you have two options.

  • Same teacher - 1 teacher in the course
  • Multiple teachers - 2 or more teachers in the course

1. Single Teacher - (Set)

The same teacher teaching the course. The schedule and teachers are fixed for a period of time.

Choose the schedule type set if you have the same teacher teaching the class every week. You still have the ability to substitute or change teacher.

Example - Teacher Jane teaches music 101 every week on Mondays and Tuesdays for 10 weeks.

2. Multiple teachers - (Flexible Teachers)

Multiple teachers teaching the same course. The schedule is fixed and each week the teacher could be different.

Select the schedule type flexible teachers if you have different teachers teaching every week. This allows you to schedule a pool of teachers to teach every week. This schedule type adds an extra step for the weekly scheduling but it makes it more efficient when scheduling multiple teachers for the same course.

Example - A Yoga school teaching Beginning Yoga 5 days a week for 5 weeks. They have 8 teachers in rotation to teach the beginners class.
